
Lindoso castle

Lindoso Castle is a medieval castle built in the 13th century and played an important role in the defense of the region against the Kingdom of Castile during the Middle Ages.
The castle is situated on a hill overlooking the village, the dam and the surrounding countryside. It consists of a large keep, a fortified wall, and several towers, including a square tower known as the “Tower of Homage.”
Dam

The Lindoso Dam is a large hydroelectric dam located on the Lima River, in border of Spain.
The construction of the dam began in 1981 and was completed in 1992. The dam is made of concrete and has a height of 83 meters, making it one of the tallest dams in Portugal. The reservoir created by the dam is a popular destinations for fishing, boating, and other water-based recreational activities.
“Espigueiros”

The espigueiros are an important part of the cultural heritage of the area and have been designated as a National Monument.
The espigueiros date back to the 18th century and were built by local farmers to store their crops, primarily maize and other grains. The espigueiros are made of granite stone and are raised on pillars to keep the stored grain dry and safe from rodents.
