The chapel of “Senhor da Pedra” is the top attraction of the wide beach of Miramar, only a few kilometres south of Porto.

The chapel was built in the 17th century, and is celebrated each year in one of the many “romarias” common in the north of Portugal.

According to tile inscriptions at the entrance, the site was used in pagan cults before Christianization.
