This region is known for its unique microclimate, being known for producing two main types of wine: red wine (Ramisco grapes) and white wine (Malvasia).

In 1921, the Viscount of Salreu erected here his large cellars.

The vernacular-inspired building stretches along two parallel blocks in the road that connects the city to Maçãs Beach.
