The Posada del Rosario dates back to the 16th century and has undergone several renovations over the years. It features a beautiful courtyard with a central fountain, traditional Castilian architecture, and a charming atmosphere.

It seems tha Miguel de Cervantes was the most famous guest, and, today, the Posada del Rosario serves as a cultural center and a venue for various events, exhibitions, and performances.

The Cathedral of San Juan Bautista began in the 16th century, but it was not completed until the 20th century, which is why it exhibits a mix of architectural styles. The predominant style is Gothic, although it also features Renaissance and Baroque elements.

Lodares passage

The Lodares Passage is a covered shopping arcade that is considered one of the most emblematic and elegant examples of modernist architecture in the city.

Designed by the architect Julio Carrilero, it was constructed between 1925 and 1927and it is characterized by its symmetrical design, decorative ironwork, and large skylights that allow natural light to illuminate the interior. The arcade, influenced by French Art Nouveau, is lined with various shops, cafes, and businesses.

The City Hall Palace is situated in the city center, on Avenida de la Constitución. The construction of the building began in the late 19th century and was completed in the early 20th century. It is a good example of neoclassical architecture, featuring an impressive central clock tower, which is one of the distinctive elements of the Albacete skyline.

The Knife Museum is a specialized museum that showcases the history, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of the knife-making tradition in the city. It is located in the heart of the city, near the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista.

It is located in an beautiful old building, with an eclectic style, known as Casa de Hortelano, built in 1912.

We were in transit, the stop in town being essentially for lunch.
This huge restaurant, with a varied buffet, was a perfect solution: we ate quickly and cheaply, and the children, usually complicated, found enough in the varied menu to put their worries at rest. Some confusion due to the frequency, but without major inconveniences.

Visiting the city only in passing, obviously there was no reason to dwell on the hotels.
I could not, however, fail to appreciate the excellent appearance and location of this hotel, which remains in the memory, in case…

In my youth, I was impressed by the imposing image of Albacete castle in my books.

Twenty years ago, passing nearby in the way to Benidorm, without stopping, I saw the castle.

This time, passing again but with time to stop, I had to visit the castle.

Surprise! ​There’s no castle in the city, the one that I had in mind is located, not far, but… in Almansa.
