Cabo Girão

One of the highest headlands in Europe, this cape offers spectacular views over a wide stretch of the south coast of Madeira, including the remote fajãs at its feet.

Since 2012 it has been equipped with the highest “Skywalk” in Europe.

Located about 15 km south of Funchal, it is particularly renowned for its stunning sunsets, with most people trying to time the visit to coincide with the evening hours, and to be treated to a spectacular display of colors as the sun dips below the horizon.
