Visiting Elvas
My shame!
I’ve been in this city more than a dozen times, and only once I had time to see something around.
Not much, I must confess, but enough to decide that, in one of the next opportunities I will check some more details, however, a few notes may already be posted.
Landscape

Located about 8 kilometers from the city, the Fort of Our Lady of Grace is perched on the top of a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
It is one of the best points to admire the extension of the famous aqueduct.
The fort

Fort of Our Lady of Grace, is not only a good viewpoint, but also a very interesting sample of military architecture.
Built in the 18th century, the fort was designed as a military stronghold to defend the region. It has a unique star-shaped design and was strategically positioned to provide a commanding view of the border with Spain.
Amoreira aqueduct

The Aqueduct of Amoreira is an engineering masterpiece from the 16th century. This massive structure stretches for over five kilometers and was built to provide water to the city. You can walk or drive along the aqueduct to appreciate its grandeur.
