Santa Bárbara beach
I´ve been twice in this beach, the first one in winter, with a rough sea, and the other in summer. It was a surprise, with sun and a calm sea, the almost emptiness of the beach, impossible in the continent.
We didn’t enter the water (“our” beach, in the southern coast seemed to be better), but it was a great aperitif for the best lunch in the island.
Associação Agrícola
Before leaving for the Azores, well-known friends warned that a lunch at Associação Agrícola in Ribeira Grande was “a must do”. We tried to book right on arrival, and it was our best decision, because we only got a place for 12.15 on the last day. It was, in fact, an excellent lunch, with the memorable meat from the Azores. Lots of friendliness, great quality in preparation, simple presentation, and an adequate price. Surely it was REALLY mandatory.
