Denmark – 2 interesting visits

Visiting Denmark

To see I spent only a couple of days in Denmark, hardly having time for a quick visit of Copenhagen and Kronborg Castle.

From Sweden I visited the island of Bornholm, where I returned a few months later, with more time to explore the island (and a few more hours in Copenhagen).

Visiting Denmark – Copenhagen

Copenhagen was a surprise to me: a joyful city, living with pleasure its integration with water.

Travelling along the canals or walking along the streets, was really a great pleasure.

Bornholm justified a second trip, in a short but very well planned visit that allowed me to have a look of a different area of the city.

A few tips were added to Copenhagen page

Visiting Denmark – Bornholm

In my first visit to Bornholm I got the idea that it is a place where locals go in search of nature and beach.

My idea is also that the waters must be so cold that… brrrrr.

I’ve been there, in my first visit, in a sunny (cold) day of Fall, and repeated it a couple of years later, this time flying, despite the curious way to take the ferry: Leave Copenhagen by a tunnel, that becomes a bridge entering Sweden from where the ferry leaves to Bornholm island. Complex but functional!

This second and deeper visit confirmed the first impressions.

In my visits, Bornholm was mandatory, Copenhagen easy to see in the way, and Kronborg castle a temptation nearby. Yes, we made a large detour for a quick visit of Helsingor.
