About 16 KM from Ouro Preto, a small but also beautiful town, this small city, replicates the style and harmony of Ouro Preto, at a smaller scale and in a less beautiful landscape. 

I read that the old train “Maria Fumaça” offers a pleasant trip of about one hour between the two cities. It was closed when we visited it, and even if it wasn’t our shortage of time would recommend the car. Even in a short visit, the wonders of Portuguese Baroque could be seen.
