Sanjenjo is a coastal town located in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, in northwest Spain, and is a popular tourist destination, particularly during the summer months.
Highlights in Sanxenxo:
The numerous beaches, including Silgar, Montalvo, and A Lanzada, deal for sunbathing, swimming, and watersports. Strolling in the city we may see the parish church of San Xinés de Padriñán, and the Pazo de Quintáns, a 16th-century manor house that has been converted into a museum.
For the nature lovers, more than the beaches, they may make a trip to the island of Ons, as part of Atlantic Islands National Park, or enjoying the views from Carabuxeira sightseeing point.

I was not planning to visit Sanxenxo, but I had to stop and look around, long ago, in my first visit to Santiago de Compostela.
The beach is part of the Rías Baixas region, in the province of Pontevedra, known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant marine life. The town offers a mix of modern amenities and traditional charm, with a bustling port that serves both fishing and recreational boats.
This was, maybe, the best beach that I saw in Galicia (I didn’t see many!). In reality, the water temperature “pushes” me to the south, when it comes to beaches, and Galicia attracts me fundamentally for its monuments and landscape. However, this one was really inviting.
