Visiting Puebla de Sanabria
This was a well-known name, as it stood out in map queries when planning trips north. It was just a passing place, and I confess that I didn’t see anything significant to invite you to stop and take a closer look.
Later readings alerted me to the presence of a castle and palace of the counts of Benavente, and of some churches that justified the stop. It’s the problem with ill-prepared trips – there’s always something left for the next one!
