I’ve passed by Santiponce dozens of times, always swearing to myself “I have to go see it,” but always with limited time preventing me from stopping. It happened again now with the pleasant visit to the ruins, and the frustration of the monastery, but… it’s still accessible!
Roman ruins

The ancient ruins of Santiponce, home to the Roman city of Itálica, reveal grand streets, mosaics and one of Spain’s most impressive amphitheaters. Walking through its remains offers a vivid sense of imperial history, where emperors once lived and Roman culture flourished under the Andalusian sun. Even the small kid has been surprised by the unexpected old wall.
Monastery

The Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo blends medieval architecture with a serene monastic atmosphere. Its cloisters, frescoes and stone halls reveal centuries of religious devotion and artistic heritage. We were unlucky, because when we tried to enter it we discovered that it was its closing day. It remains in the agenda!
