Game of Throne set in Osuna
Having need to choose a place to stop for a meal, and having read about the interesting quarry work in town for the movie “Game of Thrones”, Osuna was an obvious choice.
The visit to the quarry, where the constructions for the film are carefully preserved, was very interesting, awakening in those who, like me, did not see the film, the desire to do so.
University

It was a surprise for me to discover what I thought was a smaller city, a university. Even bigger surprise was knowing that it was founded in 1548, with the support of a papal bull from Pope Paul III. The institution played a significant role in higher education until its closure in 1824. Well, things change…
Colegiata

From the same century comes the Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, is a strange example of Renaissance architecture. The church’s exterior resembles a fortress, while its interior is richly decorated with artworks by renowned artists. The church also houses the local Pantheon.
Spanish Bears

One of the images that I retained during my quick visit to the city was that of a fountain with two bears flanking a castle. I later verified that it was a recreation of the city’s coat of arms, but my investigation did not go as far as finding out what the bears were doing in the castle.
San Arcadio park

San Arcadio Park is a charming green space named after the town’s patron saint. Recently renovated, the park offers a serene environment with lush flora and attractive water features. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful fountain at the entrance and a rectangular lake with effervescent water jets. Our restaurant was close to it, and the kid really enjoyed it.
