For many years, a rotten village on the outskirts of Lisbon, Porcalhota, as it was then known, grew with the disorder typical of cheap construction.
Today it is the fourth largest city in the country, in practice a huge neighborhood on the outskirts of the big city.
Despite the modernization and beautification efforts, it is still far from having become a tourist attraction.
