Part of the Alcobaça countryside since the foundation of Portugal, Alfeizerão evolved from a simple fishermen’s village to become a village with a strong agricultural activity.
Successive administrative reforms changed its status and dependency, and today it is a parish in the municipality of Alcobaça, whose distinctive element is a famous cake.
Highlights in Alfeizerão:
The church and its surroundings with the pillory and Saint Amaro chapel , and, of course, the famous “pão-de-ló”(sponge cake).
