One of the biggest beneficiaries of the construction of Alqueva dam, the village of Mourão was even more beautified by the waters of the reservoir.
Its somewhat remote location in relation to the major centers that bring together tourism and access to borders, helped to preserve the authenticity of this typical Alentejo village.
Highlights in Mourão:
The village center, the castle and the hillside that connects them are interesting and easy to visit.
