Castro Marim is a border town in the Algarve, right next to Vila Real de Santo António, and took advantage of some elevations for the installation of defensive forts.
It is this warlike structure that makes up the image of the city, an authentic island in a swampy and alluvial zone.
Highlights in Castro Marim:
The castle and fort of S. Sebastião, the beaches of Alagoas and Verde. The medieval festivities, in August, attract thousands of visitors.
