Not far from the capital, Helsingor is mainly visited for the historic castle of Kronborg.
At the closest point to neighbouring Sweden, where a canal of about 3 km, cross able by train or boat, separates the “twins” (Helsingborg in Sweden), there is a castle that Shakespeare immortalised in Hamlet, calling it Elsinore.
The real name is Kronborg, but… Shakespeare rules!
Highlights in Helsingor:
Kronborg castle hogs the spotlight, but the town is well worth a look.
