Charleroi, Belgium’s fourth city is predominantly industrial, but its historical richness warrants a visit.

One of the largest cities in the French-speaking part of Belgium, it is by no means one of the oldest, since, despite prehistoric presences being mentioned, it was only in the 17th century that the population began to stabilize.

Despite this, the historical collection is respectable, and fully justifies a visit.
