Jordan is an inland country, with just over 20 km of coastline on the Red Sea. Being little, it has to be well used.
Shoulder to shoulder with Eilath, in Israel, Aqaba is the city from which everything is disputed to the millimeter by tourism, trade, and oil, everywhere with the desert at its back.
It is thus possible to find in Aqaba some of the benefits of the Red Sea, although in limited areas and without disguising some consequences of the pollution resulting from sharing space with other activities.
Good hotels allow different programs combining sea and desert, with Wadi Rum right next door.
Highlights of Aqaba:
Beach, diving, a discreet castle and a lot of rest.
