San Francisco was founded in 1776 by Spanish settlers, and a few years later, as part of the United States, it became the largest city on the west coast, thanks to the gold rush.
In 1906 a strong earthquake devastated the city, which grew again, always under the permanent seismic threat, but being overtaken by Los Angeles and two other Californian cities.
San Francisco highlights:
There is a lot of European in the beautiful city, where the highlights are the famous Golden Gate Bridge, the exotic Lombard street, the beautiful Alamo Square, Pier 39 conquered by the sea lions, and the unmissable island of Alcatraz.
Of course, to get around the city you cannot avoid the characteristic trams, and if you go to the terminal, you have the additional spectacle of its turnaround.

San Francisco in 2 great days
