Closing the bay of Todos os Santos to the south, the huge island of Itaparica is the eighth largest in Brazil.
Operating in a suburban area of the city of Salvador, it combines images of lush nature with others of undisguised rurality.
At the southern end, there is access to the magnificent beaches of Morro de São Paulo.
Highlights in Itaparica:
Small but genuine villages such as Vera Cruz or Nazaré spread across a landscape dominated by mangroves and tropical vegetation. Some good beaches share the discretion.

Itaparica – 2 hours enjoying from the bus
