Marrakech should be the city in Morocco most promoted by tourism, and perhaps this distinction is fair. However, no city can produce the medieval feel that emanates from the Fes medina.
A beautiful city, with two distinct areas, it has, in the condensed richness of its medina, everything that defines the culture and traditions of the Berber people, not surprising its designation as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Highlights in Fes:
The medina with its madrassas and the university of Karaouiyine, the Mellah and the royal palace are essential, but much more can fill two or three days of visit.
