Aswan is an important crossing point for the Nile, today profoundly transformed by the construction of the dam, which makes the city one of the extremes of navigability for cruises.
The city is beautiful, with the bucolic sailing boats making up the scenery around the bustle of the port.
Highlights in Aswan:
The temple of Philae, saved from being drowned by the dam with a transfer to an island in the reservoir, the quarry that supplied all Egypt, with unfinished obelisks, the dam, and a little further south Abu Simbel.

Aswan – Good start of a better cruise
